The Department of Aviation Application awards scholarships to current students majoring within the Department of Aviation in the John D. Odegard School of Aerospace Science. Recipients shall be a sophomore or higher.

  1. Scholarships are awarded for the following academic year; students will need to be enrolled at UND during that academic year to qualify for monetary scholarships. Students must be currently enrolled at UND to be eligible to apply for aviation scholarships. Incoming freshmen are not eligible to apply. Scholarship Awardees are expected to attend the Spring Aviation Scholarship Ceremony, baring extenuating circumstances, to accept their scholarship award.

  2. In a minimum of 200 words, explain why you deserve an Aviation Department Scholarship. Be sure to explain your personal goals, what you have done to date to accomplish them, and specifically how a scholarship will help you meet your goals. Scoring will be based on content, spelling, punctuation, grammar, and meeting the minimum essay length.

In the event you are selected as a scholarship recipient, the bio you include below may be read aloud after your name has been announced at the Scholarship Banquet. Baring exigent circumstances, if awarded a scholarship, your presence at the Spring Scholarship Banquet is expected.
    • Sample: Joe Student is a Senior from Lethbridge, Alberta majoring in Commercial Aviation. He is an Active member of the International Pilots Association and has served on the Student Technology Board as a Student Representative. Joe enjoys the outdoors and plans on taking a few months off after graduation to hike the Canadian Rockies.
